Maurice is active in supporting a variety of charities, including children's charities and the promotion of mental health and cancer awareness.

BIPOLAR DISORDER

Maurice is a leader in erasing the stigma associated with manic depression and bipolar disorder, a disease which he suffers from. His active role includes participating in the following projects:

LOS ANGELES COUNTY DEPT OF MENTAL HEALTH (2011)
To continue his efforts in erase the stigma associated with mental illness, Maurice is now working with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health for a segment in their "Profiles of Hope" and some Public Service Announcements. |

ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRIES COUNCIL (2008)
In recognition of National Mental Health Month, the EIC produced a series of Public Service Announcements with Maurice. |

THE PACIFIC SHORES HEMATOLOGY-ONCOLOGY FOUNDATION

The Pacific Shores Hematology-Oncology Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization that serves both Los Angeles and Orange County in Southern California. The foundation’s mission is unique in that it provides a myriad of programs ranging from education; increasing access to clinical trials and treatment; and improving the quality of life of cancer patients and their families, both physically and emotionally.
